Xiaomi finally takes the curtain off its new goodies

Xiaomi had their event held at the Convention Center in China to announce new products

Xiaomi held an event in China at the National Convention Center to announce a few new products. The show began with a dance on their latest segway, the Ninebot, followed by a little talk about the company and the product lines. A few minutes later, Lei Jun, the company head, presented the Redmi Note 3 (4G) the next device in the Redmi series.

Highlights of Redmi Note 3:

  • - 802.11ac Wi-Fi
  • - MIUI 7 operating system

Redmi Note 3 is the third generation of Redmi Note series, and it shares similarity with the old Redmi Notes. However, some cool features that are refreshed are the full metal sand-blasted body with a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi also announced the second version to the tablet, the Mi Pad 2. The new tablet is slimmer that the earlier model by around 18%. It is powered by an Intel X5 Z8500 chipset with 2GB RAM and an Intel HD graphics processor and 16GB of storage. The rear camera is an 8MP while the front camera is a 5MP. Powering the Mi Pad 2 is a 6190 mAh battery, but the tablet now includes a USB Type-C slot. The display stands at the same 7.9-inches with a 2K resolution.

Lastly, the Chinese tech company unveiled the second generation of their air purifiers—the Mi Air Purifier 2. The new entrant boasts of a smaller footprint with a smaller and lighter body. Additional features include a quieter motor/fan, around 58% more power efficient and a aircraft engine-inspired booster fan for faster filtering.

The for the Redmi Note 3 are: RMB 899 (Rs 9,500) (2GB+16GB) and RMB 1,099 (Rs 11,500) (3GB+32GB)

The price for the Mi Pad 2 are: RMB 999 (Rs 10,500) (16GB) and RMP 1,299 (Rs 13,500) (64GB)

The price for the Mi Air Purifier 2 is: RMB 699 (Rs 7,500)

As for now, there is no news about these products launching in India or the rest of the world. Lastly, there was absolutely no word about the smartwatch or the flagship Mi 5.
