Sarika spoke of abuse in email

The harassment increased even further after Mr Rajaiah became an MP
WARANGAL: An email sent by Sarika, who died under mysterious circumstances along with her three children on Wednesday, came to light on Thursday.
Sarika had mailed Ms Rehana, her advocate in Hyderabad, explaining the harassment she underwent because of her husband and in-laws. In the e-mail, she had stated that her husband and in-laws, harassed her repeatedly and pressurised her to leave the house.
The harassment increased even further after Mr Rajaiah became an MP. Further, she said that her husband Anil was involved in an illicit relationship with another woman.
He also used to assault her over trivial issues and did not pay for his children’s school fees and other expenses. She even had to mortgage her mangalsutra to arrange money.
She said that the harassment increased when she became pregnant for the second time.
Sarika mentioned in the mail that her mother-in-law used to scold her even in front of her relatives and domestic workers and that her children were left to starve on several occasions.
“A numbers of women are sacrificing their lives for their husband and in-laws. What can you do? If you complain, legally nothing will happen, power is in our hands,” the mail quotes the ex-MP.
The cops, however, denied having any knowledge of the email.
