Bodoland extremist arrested in Kozhikode

The Intelligence officials zeroed in on Dinda after they got hold of one of his associates’ mobile number
KOZHIKODE: A Bodoland terrorist wanted in over 15 cases in different states of north-east was nabbed from Kakkodi Mukku here by the Kerala state police intelligence wing on Tuesday.
Dinda, organising secretary and commander of National Democratic Front of Bodoland, which is a banned terrorist organisation, was working at a cement godown at Kakkodi Mukku for the last two weeks and staying with other migrant labourers in a room near the shop.
The state police alerted the Kozhikode police about the presence of Dinda, who had escaped to Kerala after the Assam police intensified their fight against the organisation. A team of Assam police would come to Kerala to take him back.
Police said none of his roommates or co-workers knew about his connection with the terrorist organisation.
The Chevayur police have also registered a case under UAPA against him.
“The police had been searching for him for the last one week after the state Intelligence got a tip- off. We confirmed his identity after sending his pictures to Assam police and he also has confessed to being a leader of the organisation,” Mr Jossy Cherian, assistant commissioner of police, Kozhikode North, told Deccan Chronicle.
The Intelligence officials zeroed in on Dinda after they got hold of one of his associates’ mobile number. Dinda did not use his mobile phone to contact his team members in Assam.
