SALEM: The Salem district administration rescued 15 girls and a boy staying in the hostel of a private school following complaint of sexual harassment by the hostel owner.
A class 6 girl who escaped from the hostel last week lodged a complaint with the Salem police that the hostel owner was sexually harassing her.
The hostel warden, Maria, and the hostel owner David are absconding. The Salem police have launched a search for them. The hostel of a private school functions at the Ayyan Thirumaligai housing board tenements. There were 15 girls and a boy between the age group of six and 16 in the hostel.
