Hyderabad/Vijayawada: The foundation stone for construction and development of Amaravati, a world-class riverfront capital city for Andhra Pradesh, will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, coinciding with Dasara.
With this, the process to turn the dream of five crore people of AP a reality will start. All arrangements have been for successful conduct of the biggest and most prestigious event of AP after bifurcation.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has vowed to live up to the people’s expectations, saying, “It is a challenge but I take it as an opportunity to live up to the expectations of the people and develop a world-class capital. The first challenge is to complete the first phase of the capital by 2018.”
Barely 17 months after being voted to power, the TD government has created a global-level hype for Amaravati, attracting the attention of industrialists and investors from around the world.
Ministers from Japan and Singapore, ambassadors of various countries in India, Chief Justice, judges of Supreme Court hailing from AP, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, celebrities, and other dignitaries will be participating in the historic event. Over five lakh people are expected to attend, while seating for 1.10 lakh being arranged.
