Water and soil, brought from across the state, to be sprinkled all over Amaravati

Religious prayers held to give sanctity

Guntur: Soil and water that has been brought from all over the state for the Amaravati foundation ceremony will be sprinkled all over Amaravati from helicopters.

AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu flagged off the Amaravati Sankalpa Jyothi yatra with water and soil kalasams from Acharya Nagarjuna University to Uddandarayunipalem.

He said the government had collected the water and soil from all places in a record five days, and these would be sprinkled all over the capital region to mix with the soil of Amaravati.

Nearly 20,000 water and soil pitchers from 16,000 villages and 4,000 wards of the AP have been received, apart from contributions from elsewhere.

The CRDA will sprinkle holy soil and water in the CRDA lands through helicopters on October 22.

Religious prayers were held to give sanctity to the water and soil by priests of Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Buddhist communities.

Addressing a gathering, Mr Naidu said “trying is human nature and blessings of almighty will complete the tasks” hence they are trying to given divine power to the water and soil by taking blessings of all gods and goddesses for the swift completion of Amaravati construction.

He added that My Amaravati-My Brick got huge success and Amaravati became a topic of discussion in every house. He said that the government decided to involve the public in the new capital establishment so started brick portal and further water and soil programme.

Mr. Naidu said that this is people’s capital hence it is located on the banks of Krishna River which’s distance is equal to various areas of the AP and reachable to every one from 13 districts.

He predicted that Amaravati got first success with the successful participation of the public and claimed that works started on Vijayadasami would be victorious and Amaravati would be a successful biggest public capital in the future. He added that presence of Amaravati sculptures in the London museum is a pride to the Telugus. The CM said that due to the power of ancient Amaravati, the works are progressing swiftly and Singaporeans also gave Capital Master Plan in six months of period honouring Amaravati where Buddhism blessed the public.
