Standing on the soil of the Nadigar Sangam after a long time gives me a high, said Vishal whose Pandavar Ani team completely swept the recent Nadigar Sangam polls. The first thing Vishal along with his team members, including president Nasser, treasurer Karthi, and vice president Karunas did, was to visit the barren land of the association where their building was present. “This is the place which was formed by our legends like MGR, Sivaji Ganesan and others. We all learnt to dance from here, and we are extremely elated,” he added. We asked what their first resolution would be and Vishal said, “As promised we want to create the database of our members first. We want each and every actor to be identified and included in the list. Next, we want to put forth the pension scheme for the old artistes who are not active now.”
When quizzed on whether media hype was a reason for the unprecedented victory, Vishal’s reply was, “See, I thank the media for their extraordinary support! And apparently, it was given to both sides. Yes, because of the coverage, this issue went to every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu. After all, we are entertainers who make the 7.5 crore people of Tamil Nadu happy. I want to make the new Nadigar Sangam a role model for other associations.” He also said that their team thanks all the veteran artistes who gave their support to their team.
Meanwhile, veteran actress Sachu, who supported Pandavar Ani team and was denied a vote in the recent Nadigar Sangam elections, was invited by Vishal’s team on Monday and given the honor of opening yet another building of the Sangam’s in North Boag Road. They also promised that she would be given life membership at SIAA.
