One killed in oil tanker blaze in Madipelli village

The lorry belonging to Andhra Pradesh got completely burnt

Thorrur (Warangal): An oil tanker caught fire after losing control at Somaramkunta in Madipelli village here on Saturday.

According to Thorrur CI Sreedhar Rao, the lorry (AP 16 CB 3262) was transporting Public Distribution System Kerosene from Suryapet to Mahbubabad when the accident took place. The speeding lorry tried to avoid collision with a DCM vehicle and barrel rolled spilling its contents and within no time caught fire.

The villagers rushed to the spot and rescued driver Anumandla Raji Reddy and cleaner K. Thirupati. The surpervisor Palakala Ram Reddy (38) got stuck inside the lorry’s cabin.

Even though the villagers tried to rescue him, he could not be saved because of the increasing fire. The lorry belonging to Andhra Pradesh got completely burnt even before the fire engine arrived.
