Fixing claims ‘nonsense’, says Dinesh Mongia

38-year-old left-handed batsman has not been part of the BCCI’s pension scheme
Mumbai: “This is nonsense,” Dinesh Mongia reacted furiously to the claim of former New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent who accused the former Indian cricketer of being part of a ‘fixing gang’ during the Indian Cricket League in 2007.
“I am innocent. I wonder why my name is being discussed again and again even after eight years. I was never involved and even cleared by the organisers of the ICL. I have a legal document to prove my claim,” added Mongia.
“This is to confirm that the agreement executed between yourself and Essel Sports Pvt. Ltd stands terminated and neither party has any claim of any nature whatsoever against each other,” a letter from Pan Infra projects Pvt. Ltd, formerly known as Essel Sports, addressed to Mongia said.
The 38-year-old left-handed batsman has not been part of the BCCI’s pension scheme. “I have not announced my retirement yet. I will approach the board for pension once I retire,” he added.
