J. Satyanarayana lodged a complaint with the Machavaram police

Vijayawada: Former Ranji cricketer Maddineni Durga Bhavani’s brother J. Satyanarayana lodged a complaint with the Machavaram police. Durga Bhavani was married to a physical education teacher of SKPVV Hindu High School, Mr Maddineni Satya Prasad, 40, and had a three-year-old child. Mr Satya Prasad was her former coach.
Mr Satya Prasad was at Nuzvid when Durga’s body wsa found and could not arrive in the city till 8 pm, the police said. Durga Bhavani, then known as Jagupilla Durga Bhavani, hailed from a poor family and rose to the level of a state player.
Durga Bhavani’s brother did not suspect anyone’s hand behind the death of his sister and the police believes that family problems might have pushed Durga Bhavani to take the extreme step.
