KIAL police arrest cabbie for cheating Sex Workers

The women told the cops that they were pushed into flesh trade by one pimp Kumar

Bengaluru: The police inspector at the International Airport police station was taken aback when he received a message from the city police control room stating that two women were in distress after having been robbed and dropped off by a cab driver in the wee hours of Friday morning near Toll Plaza-2 in his jurisdiction. He immediately along with his beat staff rushed to the spot with few woman police staff and accompanied the women to the police station only to learn that the two women were sex workers, and the money that was paid to them was snatched back by the cabbie after two of his friends availed services from the women. The KIAL police have registered a case under immoral trafficking and have arrested the cab driver.

According to the police, the two women aged 21, and 23, were dropped off by the cabbie around 3.00 am near Toll Plaza-2 instead of dropping them to Vidyaranyapura. At the police station, the women told the cops that they were pushed into flesh trade by one pimp Kumar. Cab driver Rajanna had called pimp Kumar and had asked for two women on Thursday night promising that he would pay Rs 5000 for each of them. The deal was fixed and the women were waiting in Mathikere when Rajanna picked them in his car on Thursday night.

One more friend of Rajanna, named Subramani, who got into the car later, paid the two women Rs 8000. They later took them to a lodge near Bashettihalli in Doddaballapura where two other men named Shashi and Arun were waiting in the lodge. The women thought that only Shashi and Arun were their customers and when Rajanna and Subramani forced them to spend time with them, the women refused. Miffed with this, cabbie Rajanna took them in his car and dropped them midway near Toll Plaza after snatching away Rs 8000 from the women, the police said. KIAL police have arrested Rajanna and are on the lookout for others while the two women were sent to the state-run women’s home.
