Shiv Sena firm; Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal invite Ghulam Ali

‘Future mein bhi ate rahenge. Jab bhi mahaul accha hoga to ayenge’

Mumbai: Under attack from political and cultural quarters for forcing cancellation of Ghulam Ali’s concert, the Shiv Sena on Thursday said it was not possible to have fun when soldiers are being martyred and that it would continue to “boycott” Pakistan till it stops terror activities.

Following the Maharashtra government’s backing out on the issue, Delhi, Bihar and West Bengal government came forward and extended invitation to the noted singer to perform in the respective city and states.

Delhi culture minister Kapil Mishra said the Pakistani Singer is welcome to come to the national capital for holding his concert. “Sad that #GhulamAli is not being allowed in Mumbai, I invite him to come to Delhi and do the concert. Music has no boundaries. #BanTheBan (sic),” Mr Mishra wrote on Twitter.

“Music has no boundaries. Music is the rhythm of the heart. Ghulam Ali concert can be held in Kolkata,” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is now on a visit to Bhutan, tweeted.

“We will make all arrangements (for the concert),” she added. However, unperturbed by the cancellation of the concert, Ghulam Ali said he will keep coming to India for his fans. “It is very, very sad. I am a little worried also. But I will keep coming because I love my fans. Future mein bhi ate rahenge. Jab bhi mahaul accha hoga to ayenge,” he said.
