The Kannada film industry literally came to a standstill following the shocking news of Century Star Shivarajkumar being hospitalised after suffering a mild heart attack during his routine early morning workout regime. Actors and film personalities have been rushing to Mallya Hospital to meet the Hat-Trick star, who according to his loved ones, complained of severe pain on his right shoulder while working out. He was soon taken to the hospital and is being treated by specialists. Doctors say he is recovering and will be discharged in a day or two. Bengaluru Chronicle had recently reported on the fitness regime of Shivanna.
His trainer also revealed that the dedication and passion of Shivanna towards fitness and diet for that perfect six-pack is commendable. The chief cardiologist VK Srinivas, who has been treating Shivanna, stressed that it was because of Shivanna’s fitness, that thankfully none of his arteries had any blockage and the attack could have been because of the stress involved in his packed film schedule. Shivanna along with his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar were on a tight schedule inviting several star guests for their daughter’s marriage recently.
They both personally went to invite Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and most of the Southern stars. Shivanna, who is one of the busiest actors in Sandalwood is currently working on three films — Shivalinga, Santeyalli Ninta Kabeera and Killing Veerappan, and has given dates for a few untitled projects too.
His younger brother, Raghavendra Rajkumar, who has also suffered a heart attack 25 years ago said, “There is nothing to worry. Shivanna will be home in two days. The doctors want to ensure that he is completely healthy, hence he will stay at the hospital for at least a day. He will be back to shooting in a week.” The emotionally wrought brother also recollected that he did at least six movies after suffering from a heart attack and Shivanna will also continue his good work.
Several actors and friends — Crazy Star Ravichandran, Yash, Tara, Sudharani, Prem, Rakshita Prem, veteran actress Leelavathi, her son Vinod Rajkumar, producers, directors visited him at the hospital. Puneeth Rajkumar, have requested fans and followers to desist from spreading false rumours as Shivanna is fine and will be back home tomorrow.
Actors who are shooting outside Bengaluru have been tweeting and praying for the actor’s health. Sumalatha Ambareesh while wishing Shivanna a speedy recovery, requested fans, friends and colleague to not to crowd the hospital and put extra pressure on the family members and the doctors.
