Asian Test playing nations congratulate Shashank Manohar

'Besides being Indian cricket board president, he is a cricket-lover also'

Mumbai: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan had already congratulated Shashank Manohar in advance on his likely appointment as the president of the Indian cricket board.

That was on October 1 when he was in India to console Jagmohan Dalmiya's family and had telephoned from Delhi on his was back to Lahore.

Shaharyar Khan's one point agenda is the resumption of ties between the two nations.

The chairmen of Asia's other two Test playing countries, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be no far behind to what Shaharyar Khan did.

"Will do (calling Manohar) so and congratulate him," Sidath Wettimuny, the chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) interim committee, speaking exclusively, said.

"We wish Mr. Manohar the very best, and have no doubt that the India-Sri Lanka ties will go from strength to strength."

"The BCCI has always supported Sri Lanka cricket. It will no doubt continue," he further added.

Nice man:

The BCB president Nazamul Hassan, MP is keen on building relationship with BCCI's president Manohar.

"I am not in direct contact with him but heard that he is a very nice man. I am very keen to meet him As Soon As Possible (ASAP). It is mandatory and of course I will speak to him over telephone soon," Nazamul Hassan Pappon said exclusively from Dhaka.

"Besides being Indian cricket board president, he is a cricket-lover also," he further added.
