Anyone who has an idea about contemporary trends knows beards are back in fashion, in a big way. Be it the shaggy mountain beard or the sculpted goatee, most men are want to or are already sporting beards nowadays.
However, there are several men who are unable to naturally grow a full beard and have decided to go under the surgeon’s knife to get one. Yes, beard transplants are actually a thing. In fact the surgery can cost up to several thousands of dollars. It involves taking hair follicles from the back of the head, where the hair is the thickest, and then later transferring them to a patient’s face, reports Mental Floss.
Of course, men get beard transplants for a variety of reasons. A 53-year-old university employee told The New York Times, “A lot of guys go through a midlife crisis and they buy the sports car … I just got a beard.”
