National Fellowship for Dr P Parabrahma Sastry of Hyderabad

Dr Sastry is one of the two persons selected for the fellowship this year
Hyderbad: Dr P. Parabrahma Sastry of the city has been selected for the National Fellowship of the Indian Council of Historical Research. Dr Sastry is one of the two persons selected for the fellowship this year, the other being Dr T.P. Verma,f for outstanding contribution to historical research. The ICHR is a premier historical research body under the HRD ministry.
Dr Sastry, 86, has been recognised for his work on the history of the Kakatiyas, for which he was awarded the PHd from Karnataka University, and early socio-economic conditions of Andhra Pradesh from 500 BC to 1000 AD. He worked with the department of archaeology and museums till 1981. He conducted village-wise epigraphical surveys in the Telangana districts.
