Nara Lokesh to be named TD general secretary

It is going to be a coincidence as Mr Naidu was the party general secretary during N.T. Rama Rao’s regime
Hyderabad: Bowing to pressure from young legislators and party leaders, Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu is going to name his son Nara Lokesh as one of the three general-secretaries of the newly constituted central committee which will be announced by him in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Mr Naidu will be the president of the party’s central committee wh-ile Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana Rao (BC) and one of the party Telangana veteran Revuri Prakash Reddy would be the other two general-secretaries.
It is going to be a coincidence as Mr Naidu was the party general secretary during N.T. Rama Rao’s regime. Now his son, who has been assisting his father for the past three years, will hold the same post. There were several resolutions passed in the party meetings, requesting Mr Naidu to name Mr Lokesh as party general secretary. According to party insiders, Mr Naidu will give prominence to the Reddy community in Telangana and BC and Kapus in AP party committees.
Accordingly, the cash-for-vote scam accused MLA A. Revanth Reddy would be made Telangana party working president. The same post will be non-existent in AP Committee. Prominent BC (Kapu) leader and former home minister Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao would head the party AP unit while former MP L. Ramana will continue as party president for Telangana unit. Party young turks Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Bonda Uma, Payyavula Kesav and E. Peddireddy will be the spokespersons of the central committee.
A 16-member party politburo would also be announced more or less with existing members which includes Erraballi Dayakara Rao, the legislature party leader in Telangana Assembly.
