Crowd-puller who charms all

The Bollywood actor was here for a launch and had fans swooning at a sports store in Indiranagar

Despite the dark clouds giving way to a downpour on Sunday evening, the 100 Feet Road in Indiranagar was chock-a-block with eager folk who were present only to catch a glimpse of actor Ranveer Singh. As the store geared up to shift the streets with the biggest style icon, there was complete frenzy, leaving the actor himself stumped on what a ‘crowd puller’ he can be. When the tall and charming actor arrived, his infectious energy took over as he opened up for questions on his passion for fitness and films.

His action packed day included a trip to Brigade Road and then to Indiranagar. “It was special to see so many warm and welcoming people. I’ve come to Bengaluru many times but remember coming here first for the Aerosmith concert. The Bengaluru beatboxers are so talented. It’s shocking to see such staggering talent and I had a lot of fun beat boxing together with them,” he says admitting to how he loves it when his female fans objectify their love for him.

Dressed in an eccentric and quirky outift, complete with a colourful printed tee, black track pants with one side folded up, gold rimmed sunglasses, a printed cap and a long golden chain; he admitted to be stoked to be in the role of a brand ambassador. Basking in all the attention and excitement, he immediately sent out a tweet and said, “Thank you for coming out despite the rains? Mad love right back atcha, Bengaluru!” Talking about his go-to look, he says, “I think I’ve matured over the past few years and have started liking greys, blacks and whites.” And what about Deepika, we ask. He says, “I would like to see her in Rita Ora’s (British singer and actor) collection,” clamming up on any more questions on the love of his life.

Ranveer is pushing the envelope as Peshwa Bajirao and arrived in the city straight after shooting from the sets of Bajirao Mastani. He muses on how Ram Leela was just a warm-up for this next big Sanjay Leela Bhansali release with Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. We ask him if he’s always full of beans and he admits, “I have my days of intense melancholy. My graph is like any other human being, but I never filter my feelings. Whatever I’m feeling, I let it come out, straight from my heart!” Ask him what he’s most passionate about and Ranveer says, “I’m an entertainer. I love sports and am very passionate about fitness and get my self-confidence from being fit. I get a lot of happiness from playing sports and weight lifting. Also besides my passion for acting, music and video games, I would like to direct and write some day soon.”

Recalling a fun incident, he quips saying, “I have to tell you about my earth-shattering moment. We were partying at a night club when Snoop Dogg was in Mumbai and Snoop being Snoop, took the puff puff pass. Snoop rolled out and we were talking about the finer things in life and I told him ‘No man! I’m good.’ I had to go to my film shoot at night after the party and he looks at me, with a shock, ‘You’re saying ‘no’ to Snoop Dogg?’ After that I just had to give in and just I couldn’t perform that night on the sets. I can never forget that night.”
