Hyderabad: Home minister Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Sunday accused Congress legislator Mr C. Rammohan Reddy of abusing TRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju in the Mahbubnagar Zilla Parishad meeting by referring to his caste.
He added that to avoid arrest under the SC/ST (Atrocities) Act, Mr Rammohan Reddy, along with other Congress leaders, was trying to blame the TRS.
Speaking at a function held in Telangana Bhavan, the home minister said the Congress MLA abusing the Dalit TRS legislature was a serious offence.
He said that Mr Balaraju had only pushed the Congress MLA away as he was trying to cause him physical harm and had done nothing wrong.
Mr Narasimha Reddy added that the Congress and its leaders, who want to save their legislator from being booked under the SC/ST (Atrocities) Act, had enacted a play of dharnas and sit outs at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Saturday to paint a picture to the public as if they were the aggrieved party, which was not the case.
He added that the Congress leaders, who are not sure of coming to power in Telangana ever again, are trying to blame the ruling party for every issue to gain popularity.
