Mumbai police conducted search ops and collected evidence in Kolkata

Kolkata: A team of four Mumbai Police officers on Monday brought Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani Mukherjea's former husband and co-accused in the murder of Sheena Bora, to Kolkata for another round of search for evidence.

According to a Kolkata Police source, the Mumbai Police officers, along with Khanna, reached the city early Monday morning and "conducted search operations and collected evidence" connected to their investigation into the case.

The team conducted search operations on their own and have not "asked" for any help from Kolkata Police as done earlier, the source said.

Marathon search operations were conducted at Khanna's Chapel Road residence in the Hastings area besides in his friend flat's at upmarket Alipore, he said.

Khanna, the source said, would be taken back to Mumbai on Monday night. Last week, a laptop, a mobile phone and papers related to Khanna's investment details were seized by a Mumbai Police team from his Hastings residence as well from his friend's place.
