The controversial Lyca Productions who produced actor Vijay’s previous flick Kaththi has acquired the theatrical rights of two films produced by Dhanush. According to a source, they have obtained the Tamil Nadu rights of Naanum Rowdy Thaan (NRT) and worldwide rights of Visaranai. The former directed by Vignesh Sivan has Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles, while the latter, which had Vetrimaaran at the helm, has Dinesh as the protagonist.
Interestingly, the two films belong to different genres — while NRT is billed as a romcom, Visaranai dwells on a hard hitting subject. Lyca Productions, which debuted in Kollywood, has been embroiled in controversies since the release of Kaththi last year and has faced protests from various political outfits.
