KVM Chertala inks pact with UK hospital

The centre treats head injuries, brain, spinal and pituitary tumours, hydrocephalus, intracranial haemorrhagic stroke and other illness

ALAPPUZHA: The brain centre at KVM Hospital, Cherthala, will have world class facilities for neurosurgery treatment with the inking of a pact with John Radcliff Hospital, Oxford, UK.

This is third such centre in South India after Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, and CMC Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

Dr Avinash Haridas, director of KVM Hospital, said the centre treats head injuries, brain, spinal and pituitary tumours, hydrocephalus, intracranial haemorrhagic stroke and other illnesses.

Dr Simon Cudlip, pituitary surgeon with John Radcliff Hospital, took a training class at the centre for doctors and hospital staff on August 25.
