K Manohar appointed NIMS chief

Incumbent director Dr L. Narendranath had completed two years of his three-year tenure
Hyderabad: Dr K. Manohar, professor and head of the department of general medicine and superintendent at MGM Hospital in Warangal, was on Thursday appointed director of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences by the Telangana state government.
Incumbent director Dr L. Narendranath had completed two years of his three-year tenure but has moved out as there was increasing pressure to appoint a doctor from TS to head the prestigious institution.
Dr. Manohar said “I express my thanks to the CM and health minister C. Laxma Reddy for bestowing such a responsibility on me. As superintendent of MGM for 25 months, I have worked for the development of the hospital and served the poor.”
