Shatrughan Sinha dares party to take him to task

My name and picture missing from all party hoardings, says rebel leader

Patna: In a major development on Tuesday Shatrughan Sinha who has been showing his belligerent attitude since the last few months dared the BJP to take action against him.

The actor-turned-politician and MP from Patna Sahib, irked by the reports of action to be taken against him, tweeted, “One shouldn’t forget Newton's third law that every action has an equal and opposite reaction”. However in the same tweet he said that the speculations regarding action being initiated against his was not official.

Sources said Mr Sinha’s reactions came immediately after he was hinted that the party was planning to initiate action against him on the grounds of “indulging in anti-party activities”. Shatrughan Sinha who was recently seen visiting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal further defied the party leaders, particularly the Prime Minister, after he raised the issue of Chief Minister candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections.

He had asked the party to declare Ram Vilas Paswan as the chief ministerial candidate terming his as “most able, capable, acceptable, respectable and secular”.
He also explained that through his tweet he had mentioned “the only desirable and advisable personality who will be acceptable to all of us. The ultimate decision lies with the party and its parliamentary board”.

While senior party leaders refused to say anything on the issue, some of highly placed sources informed that party was not happy by the action of Mr Sinha as it feels that his attitude may confuse workers and voters.

They said, “Party may think of taking action against him after polls are over”. Expressing his disappointment, Mr Sinha said, “Can you imagine a person who won with record margin in the last general election from Patna Saheb and who has been BJP’s star campaigner for long is not in the party core committee for election? My name and picture are missing from all party posters and hoardings even in my Lok Sabha constituency.”

On the issue of his proximity with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said, “He is among the few good CMs in the country at present. He is hard working without any taint of corruption.”
