Tamil Nadu ministers inspect Sathuragiri hill to improve infrastructure

Ministers after speaking with the local public said the infra works should be expedited, the release added
Chennai: State ministers Rajendra Balaji, M.S.M. Anandan and R.B. Udayakumar on Satur-day inspected the Sathuragiri hill region and adjoining forests to improve basic amenities for local residents.
The joint review meeting by the ministers representing tourism, forests and revenue department came in the wake of the state earmarking Rs 15 crore to develop the Sathuragiri hills and the Sundaramahalingam temple located in the Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife sanctuary.
Based on requests from the public, tourists and devotees thronging the temple, the Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa recently announced upgradation of amenities, which includes restoration of footpaths and sunshades for pilgrims. Annually over 2 lakh pilgrims and tourists visit Sathuragiri hills and the Srivilliputhur wildlife sanctuary, a press release said. Ministers after speaking with the local public said the infra works should be expedited, the release added.
