MUMBAI: When self-styled godwoman Shri Radhe Guru Maa found herself in controversies for various reasons, top Bollywood personality Subhash Ghai came to her rescue. Mr Ghai took to social networking sites Twitter and Facebook to defend Radhe Maa, saying that she had been very affectionate to him and his wife Mukta and that the self-styled godwoman treated the couple as her parents. He was of the view that the godwoman likes her “childish mood” and must have been misunderstood for the same.
Contrary to this, actor Rishi Kapoor lambasted Radhe Maa with series of sarcastic comments on Twitter. The actor also uploaded a photo of Radhe Maa blessing actor Gajendra Chauhan, whose appointment as chairman at FTII has landed him in a controversy. Taking a jibe at both, Mr Kapoor referred to the self-styled godwoman as aspiring FTII student and Mr Chauhan as FTII principal.
Meanwhile, the Kandivali police station has asked Radhe Maa to remain present on Monday for enquiry, according to sources. The self-styled godwoman, known for her lavish life style, is in trouble as on the order of magistrate court an FIR was registered against her at Kandivali police station for “instigating” a man to demand dowry from his wife. The woman had filed the FIR against the godwoman, her husband and her in-laws. The complainant has alleged that Radhe Maa had demanded Rs 7 lakh in cash for attending a wedding reception party.
On Saturday, the self-proclaimed godwoman was at Hotel City Pride at Nanded and according to sources her personal assistant was interrogated by the police. Radhe Maa also visited the famous Gurudwara during the day. On Friday, she was interrogated at Aurang-abad at Hotel Meadows where she was staying. While leaving for Nanded, she reacted to the controversies in third person, saying: “She will not say anything, but the God will do justice for her.”
Filmmaker Mr Ghai on his Facebook account posted that he and his wife were devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi and had been visiting Radhe Maa to take her blessings since last year at ‘Mata Ki Chowki’ at Borivali Bhuvan held by her old devotees. Even they had arranged a ‘Mata Ki Chowki’ at their residence and Radhe Maa was invited.
Mr Kapoor in his series of sarcastic comments on Twitter said, “Make up, lipstick, eye shadow, jewelry et al. for discourses? Is that my friend Bappi Lahiri without his glasses (sic)?”
