Think twice before clicking on website links via WhatsApp

WhatsApp might be the next target of hackers. Beware! Don’t click on any unknown link without knowing how safe is it. In the past few weeks, WhatsApp without Internet and other fake voice messages are doing rounds on WhatsApp.

On receiving this spam message via WhatsApp, you will be asked to spin the wheel to stand a chance to win gift vouchers. The Citizen also reported that this message also forces you to share the link with 10 other friends by clicking ‘Next’ to claim your prize.

As the fake message is being passed on with the brand name – Pick n Pay, the company has declared that the SMS is totally a WhatsApp. It has released an official state that Pick n Pay will never ask for any banking details or PIN numbers for any competition.

So be cautious. Don’t submit your banking details to claim any such free gifts or gift vouchers. It’s fake!
