Debut director RVR peeved at Censor Board

Debutant director RVR claims that he has documented the film in a realistic manner
Anjukku Onnu is an upcoming flick about the travails of five boys who work as construction workers and how their life changes with the arrival of a girl. Debutant director RVR claims that he has documented the film in a realistic manner, but censors have objected to several scenes, resulting in a U/A Certification.
“Though there’s a good message in it, I have not made it preachy and packaged it with commercial elements. There’s a scene where the five boys spend a night with a prostitute at the construction place. I never wanted show it directly and instead shot it suggestively. Censors objected even to that scene despite my explainations that it was a crucial part of the storyline.
They raised objections to many things — if I cut or mute those scenes which they suggested, it would mar the flow of events! Hence, I have to settle for U/A. It’s a clean film though, and you will understand when you watch it,” he says.
