Mahesh Babu looking at Rs 100 crore

The team wants the film to touch the Rs 100-crore mark

Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu, which is releasing on August 7, is perfectly poised to become a hit as it is releasing after a blockbuster film like Baahubali.

Perhaps inspired by the success of Baahubali, the Srimanthudu team is also publicising the film aggressively.

Unlike his earlier films, Mahesh Babu is talking about the film with the media and is also promoting the Tamil version.

According to a source, the team wants the film to touch the Rs 100-crore mark. “That’s the reason why they are promoting it in a different manner and are not repeating the same mistake they did for 1-Nenokkadine. They didn’t give any clue about the story of that film and did not prepare the audience in advance. Though the film was critically acclaimed, it did not do well. They don’t want to repeat the same mistake and have thus revealed the story a bit,” says the source.

The film has already made money as the makers have got nearly Rs 17 crore for the Telugu and Hindi satellite rights. The film should do well overseas too as Mahesh is a big craze abroad.
