Mumbai: Yukub Memon was hanged till death in the 'Fansi Yard' under supervision of Jail Superintendent Yogesh Desai. He was convicted for his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts. Many years ago, Anurag Kashyap made this fantastic film 'Black Friday' showing in detail everything that happened behind the scene and many events about the blasts were recreated.

Imtiaz Ali potrayed the character of Yakub Memon in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Black Friday’. The film was based on a book 'Black Friday – The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts' by Hussain Zaidi about the 1993 Bombay bombings. The film went on to win many accolades on international platform, however, was too controversial to release in India. It was eventually released in 2007.
