One of most popular Indian musical TV reality show – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa which gave birth to musical sensations such as Shreya Goshal, Vijay Prakash and umpteen numbers of singing talents across the country, is back with its 10 edition in Kannada as the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs. Magical Composer Arjun Janya joins Rajesh Krishnan and Vijay Prakash as the judge for the latest season.
The reality show is set to kick start on weekends from August 1 between 9 and 10 pm on Zee Kannada. The private regional channel says that it has planned the tenth season of its popular show in Kannada with a realistic approach while emphasising only on the music.
“Around 5000 children participated in the hunt for best singers across the state – Hubli, Shivamogga, Udupi, Davanagere, Mysuru and Bengaluru. Of the 200 best ones, we have selected 30 for this season. The first day, of the 30, 15 will be eliminated and the rest will compete for the first place,” says Raghavendra Hunsur, Programming head of the regional channel.
He further adds that several steps have been taken to keep the results transparent by allowing SMS voting. “The judges will be blind folded in the first part of the elimination round. Only those children who will impress all the three judges by making them unfold their folds with their singing capabilities will make it to the next round. It is to give more importance to singing and to curd the gimmicks. Unlike other reality shows, this one will have no staged emotional factors,” he adds.
The tenth edition will be hosted by actress Anushree.
