WhatsApp to debut in Urdu soon

WhatsApp in Urdu will be the 18th language for the chat platform

WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter - the three major players in the social media world, introduced a series of new features in the recent past. Easy accessibility and user-friendly interface with consumer-centric features is the reason for the increase in the demand of social media apps.

Latest media reports reveal that WhatsApp will soon be available in Urdu for Android users. Ahsan Saeed, Translation Administrator at WhatsApp, claims that the translation process has been going on for quite a long time. Saeed mentioned the future plans of WhatsApp, on Facebook, stating, ‘Alhumdulillah. WhatsApp Urdu for Android is now 100% translated and will be launched soon.’

Express Tribune also reported that Ahsan Saeed has been working with Twitter as an Urdu localisation moderator since 2012. WhatsApp invited several volunteers for its new translation project. Saeed was appointed as the Translation Administrator for WhatsApp a few months ago.
