A noble deed by wife of a brain-dead person

The medical board had informed his family members about Sharma’s condition on Friday morning

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology here witnessed a noble deed by the wife of a brain-dead person on Friday.

When the doctors asked Latha Sharma, wife of S. Neelakanda Sharma, 46, who was declared brain-dead, about the possibility of donating his organs, she gave them the nod without any hesitation. The medical board had informed his family members about Sharma’s condition on Friday morning.

Sharma, who was practising at Vanchiyoor court for the last 22 years, had a stroke on July 6 after his blood pressure shot up and was admitted to SCTIMST. Though doctors tried hard, they could not save him.
