She has been getting good offers from Tamil filmmakers

Shamlee, once a popular child artiste who had even grabbed several awards including a National Award for Mani Ratnam’s Anjali, quit acting and went abroad to pursue studies. She then tried a stint as a heroine in a Telugu movie Oye with Siddharth which was an average grosser.
Now, the pretty sis-in-law of Ajith wants to try her luck in tinsel town again as she has been getting good offers from Tamil filmmakers. It seems her recent photo shoot with an ace photographer from the city has paid off!
We hear that the actress has been roped in for the sequel of 2005 blockbuster Sandakozhi, which had Vishal and Meera Jasmine in the lead with Lingusamy helming affairs. Sources say that after Lingu announced Sandakozhi 2, which will feature Vishal as the protagonist, he was in search of a girl with homely looks when he chanced upon Shamlee’s new pictures. Production sources confirm that the Paiyaa filmmaker was happy, and decide on her for Meera Jasmine’s role in the original. While Raj Kiran who played the pivotal role of Vishal’s father will also be seen in the sequel.
Lingusamy has opted for Imman to score music instead of Yuvan Shankar Raja. Also, Meera Jasmine will also be playing a cameo in the sequel, which has been revealed by Vishal earlier.
One may recall Vishal’s tweet clarifying rumours that Tamannaah and Samantha were approached for Sandakozhi 2. He wrote, “I stand to correct. Neither Tamanna nor Samantha were approached by @VffVishal for Sandaikozhi 2. Final drafting of script work going on.”
