Madhavi Latha has signed up for a Tamil film called Madhurai Manikkuravan.
Hyderabad: Madhavi Latha, who is currently doing a period Telugu film based on the works of K.V. Chalam, is on cloud nine. Apart from multiple projects in Telugu, the actress has bagged a Tamil film to be directed by debutant director Hari Kumar. Though she had appeared in a small role in Vishal’s Ambala in January this year, this will be her first Tamil film as a lead actress. “I am playing a typical Brahmin college-going girl,” says the actress. Delhi Ganesh will play her father, who is a pujari in a Madhurai temple. Hari Kumar, who is also playing the lead, has a double role in the film.
Madhavi says that she is excited about the film as the producer had earlier made films with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. According to a source, the subject is based on the real-life story of Manikkuravan, thus the title Madhurai Manikkuravan.
