Enforcement Directorate calls Lalit Modi for grilling

ED had recorded the statement of N Srinivasan, the original complainant in the case

Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday issued summons to former IPL chief Lalit Modi in connection with the facilitation fee case filed by the BCCI in 2010 with the Chennai police.

Only on Thursday, the ED had recorded the statement of former BCCI chief N. Srinivasan, the original complainant in the case. “We have issued summons to Lalit Modi to remain present before us for questioning within the next three days in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act case that we have registered in the BCCI’s complaint,” said an ED officer.

The case pertains to a 2008 deal between the BCCI and World Sports Group for $1.026 billion for IPL media rights for 10 years. BCCI terminated the contract with WSG and awarded it to Multi Screen Media, Singapore.
