Uber to invest $50 million in Hyderabad

Uber will train over 2,000 candidates from the Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge by the end of 2016
Hyderabad: US-based taxi-hailing app Uber will invest $50 million in Hyderabad for building infrastructure and adding more drivers to its networks, a top company official said here on Monday. Speaking on the sidelines of signing an MoU between Uber and the Telang-ana government, Uber general manager for Hyderabad, Mr Siddharth Shankar, said, “We will invest $50 million (Rs 317 crore) over the next five years to establish a state-of-the-earth facility here in Hyderabad”.
However, he declined to reveal the details of the investment. As per the MoU, Uber will train over 2,000 candidates from the Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge by the end of 2016 and will then be absorbed into the company.
