Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal dares BJP to sack Raje, Swaraj, Irani

He said AAP practises 'clean politics' due to which the party asked Tomar for his resignation

New Delhi: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday dared BJP to sack Union ministers Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, saying his party had "showed the guts" to remove former Delhi Law Minister and the saffron party should follow suit.

Taking a moral high ground, Kejriwal said AAP practises "clean politics" due to which the party asked Jitender Singh Tomar for his resignation immediately after he was arrested by Delhi Police in a fake degree case.

"I completely agree with this, when a case was registered against Tomar, we accepted his resignation and removed him from the Cabinet. This is important. We talked about clean politics. The way we showed the guts, the BJP should also sack Vasundhara Raje ji, Sushma Swaraj ji and Smriti Irani ji from the Cabinet and probe the matters," the Delhi Chief Minister told a TV channel.

The AAP has been gunning for resignation of Swaraj and Raje in the Lalit Modi controversy, and Irani for allegedly giving "false" information about her educational qualification in affidavits filed with the Election Commission.

Despite the Opposition mounting pressure on the government, BJP has backed Raje and Swaraj until now.

"They (the BJP) are also trying to mislead people by using technical terms, but people are watching. It has already faced a lot of embarrassment and they should now remove them," Kejriwal added.
