Mumbai: There have been rumours about Sooraj Barjatya penning the sequel to his 1994 blockbuster ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. According to reports the producer-director is in the process of finalizing the star cast and Ranbir Kapoor has been approached to play the lead role.

However Rajshri Productions General Manager PK Gupta cleared the air and said, "As of now there are no such plans of making a sequel of 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun...!'. There is nothing like that happening. These are just rumours."

Gupta further added that work is in full swing for their next big Diwali release 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' with Salman and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. He said, "Almost 80 per cent of the shoot is over. Some scenes and a song sequences are pending. We are hopeful that the shoot will be over in two months."

Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently lying low after the debacle of 'Bombay Velvet', is evaluating the scripts being offered to him. Earlier this year, he wrapped up 'Tamasha' with Deepika Padukone and is currently shooting for 'Jagga Jasoos' with Katrina. He will now shooting for 'Ae Dil hai Mushkil' with Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma in a couple of months. Next year, he starts Ayan Mukerji's superhero film followed by Sanjay Dutt's biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
