Ind vs Ban, second ODI: Watch out for these players

India for the first time are staring at the ignominy of a series defeat

Mirpur: After facing a shocking loss in the first of the three ODIs, Team India, under their beleaguered skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be aiming to come out all guns blazing when they face a confident Bangladesh side led by Mashrafe Mortaza, here on Sunday.

India for the first time are staring at the ignominy of a series defeat against the proverbial minnows of world cricket in the backdrop of some unwanted controversy that resulted in skipper Dhoni being docked 75 percent of his match fees.

With a ‘no more Mr Nice Guy’ approach, these players can be possible game-changers on the day. Let’s take a look.

Virat Kohli

India’s new Test skipper is currently going through a lean patch, with no big scores to his name in Bangladesh. But as it’s proven in the past, the Men in Blue’s swashbuckling batsman is just in need of one big score to get back his touch. And when he does get going, it’s difficult to stop the run-flow from his blade. (Photo: AP)

Suresh Raina

The southpaw was one of the major factors that restricted Bangladesh to their mammoth total of 307 in the first ODI. Raina, who did the trick this time with the ball (0-40), along with Ravichandran Ashwin, has been instrumental in all the departments of the game. His contribution on Sunday will prove vital for the team. (Photo: AP)

Rohit Sharma

He is a man of big hundreds and double hundreds when it comes to ODI cricket and he would not like to throw it away like he did in the first match when he looked set for another three figure mark. (Photo: AP)

Mustafizur Rahman

Although being part of the collision with Dhoni and subsequently being booked for it, Bangladesh have found their star in Mustafizur Rahman. With a stunning performance (5-50) in his debut match, the 19-year-old Tiger cannot be left out of the equation if his team want to create another upset and clinch the series 2-0. (Photo: AP)

Soumya Sarkar

A fine batting display from 22-year-old Soumya Sarkar was one of the mainstays in his team’s massive total of 307 in the first one-day international. His 40-ball 54 runs knock, that included eight boundaries and one huge hit, showed the confidence he had while facing a full-strength Indian team. Sarkar would hope that he can repeat his performance in the next ODI too. (Photo: AFP)
