Snoop Dogg upsets Parsis

Music video has hip-hop veteran seated under the Faravahar, a symbol of the Zoroastrian guardian angel
Zoroastrians have launched a petition against rapper Snoop Dogg after he was featured in a music video sitting on a throne under the Faravahar, alongside scantily-clad women and sporting heart-shaped sunglasses.
The Faravahar is a symbol for the Zoroastrian guardian angel and is part of Persian culture and folklore. American Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, released the video which forms the visuals for his latest song, King. The lead singer of the track is Iranian singer Amitis.
Parsis world over are now launching collective action against the singer and have launched a petition in Change.org asking for an apology.
The petition read: “Zoroastrians and Parsis the world over worship the Farohar. The use of it in a music video is very insensitive towards the religious beliefs of one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world. We would respectfully ask Amitis, Snoop Dogg and their team to remove the video and tender an apology to Zoroastrians worldwide.”
