Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unveil the pylon of the prestigious Water Grid scheme on Monday at Chotuppal in Nalgonda district, which will ensures drinking water to every household in the state within four years.
The CM will also formally launch the works of the Yadadri 4,000 Megawatt Thermal Station at Veerlapalem near Damarcherla in the same district. Later in the day, he will address a massive public meeting at Nalgonda town.
TPCC president Mr N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who hails from Nalgonda, meanwhile addressed a news conference and criticised the Water Grid scheme as the biggest scam. “It is not intended to quench the thirst of millions of people of Telangana, but to quench the thirst for money of a few politicos in the government,” he alleged.
He said that the tender schedules were changed several times to benefit the contractors as well as to provide huge money through commissions to the politicos, especially to Panchayati Raj Minister Mr K.T. Rama Rao, who is the key person in the execution of the Rs 25,000 crore scheme.
“TRS leaders have been alleging that during these 13 years of Congress governments, only contractors from Seemandhra region benefitted, but I want to know whether there is a single contractor from Telangana state after finalisation of tenders for the scheme?” Mr Reddy asked. He demanded the state government to disclose the project report details, scheme of finances and award of contracts to various companies.
