If it’s my land, I’ll gift it to you: Siddaramaiah to HD Kumaraswamy on Kengeri property

Siddaramaiah was reacting to H.D. Kumaraswamy’s allegation about his site in Kengeri

BENGALURU: Reacting to JD (S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy’s allegation about his site in Kengeri, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remarked on Monday that if he had any property in Kengeri, he would love to give it to his former JD (S) colleague-turned-foe.

Hurling a challenge at Mr Kumaraswamy to provide documents to prove his allegation of a false affidavit being submitted during the registration of a property, Mr Siddaramaiah said: “Being a former chief minister, Mr Kumaraswamy should not make such irresponsible statements. There is no truth in the allegations.”

On Sunday, Mr Kumaraswamy had charged that Mr Siddaramaiah filed a false affidavit while registering a property in Kengeri, but did not substantiate it with documents. A copy of the documents along with the absolute sale deed, accessed by Deccan Chronicle, suggests that Mr Siddaramaiah, son of Siddaramaiah, residing in Siddaramanahundi village, Mysuru taluk, was allotted a site at No. 91 in survey No. 19 of of Dollars Scheme (popularly known as Dollars Colony), III main road, by BDA in 1987.

In the late nineties, Mr Siddaramaiah reportedly named Mrs Jayanthi Rao as the GPA holder. Mrs Rao, under a gift deed executed in 2003, gave the property to her children, only to reacquire it in 2014. In the document registered in 2014, the name of Mr Siddaramaiah’s father was reportedly mentioned as Mr Siddarame Gowda. Interestingly, the property was registered at Kengeri office of Jayanagar sub-registrar.

Meanwhile, home minister K J George, who also lambasted the JD (S) leader for levelling such allegations, said “After losing power, Mr Kumaraswamy has become like a fish out of water. He feels that his party will come back to power if he harps on the lottery scam. He must be day dreaming.”
