Kerala High Court allows Plus 2 in 14 more schools

Breather for schools not in primary list

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday asked the state to allow Plus-Two batches in 14 more schools which were awarded additional batches but were not in the list prepared by the six-member committee.

These schools can admit students to the Plus-One courses this academic year with the order passed by Justice A. Muhammed Mustaque.

The court had asked the state to consider whether the schools were eligible for new batches. But when the case came up for hearing on May 28, the state sought two more months to comply with the order.

“No doubt that if time is granted the schools which have been already given sanction will not be allowed to commence classes this academic year,” the court observed. Though enough time was granted, the state didn’t bother to consider the requests of the schools, it said.

The court had earlier observed that no schools other than those found in the list of scrutiny committee headed by the Kerala Higher Secondary Education Director shall be permitted.
