Sonam Kapoor, who commenced shooting for the Neerja Bhanot biopic a few days ago, was seen at the Mumbai airport in the wee hours of Tuesday to film a scene with her leading man, Shekhar Ravjiani.
Ravjiani — one half of the music duo Vishal-Shekhar — was finalised to play the role of Sonam’s beau in the film after several other actors were considered. This project will mark his film debut.
The scene that Sonam and Shekhar were shooting for, depicts him dropping her off near the airport. Sonam (as Neerja) is seen making her way towards the entrance with her luggage, then running back to Shekhar for a hug. The actors needed quite a few takes before they were able perfect the shot. The biopic, directed by Ram Madhvani, is based on the life of Pan Am flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, who lost her life trying to save passengers from terrorists who hijacked their plane.
