Modi’s foreign trips got us $99 billion: Union Minister Ananth Kumar

India was able to rope in investment to the tune of 99 billion dollars in various sectors

Bengaluru: Coming down heavily on the Congress for its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign tours, Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals, Ananth Kumar said that due to these trips, India was able to rope in investment to the tune of 99 billion dollars in various sectors.

Inaugurating a workshop for the party cadre on the achievements of the NDA government, Mr. Kumar said the Prime Minister had traveled to 17 countries in 45 days. He has interacted with more than 50 world leaders and requested them to invest in India.

Due to the strong leadership of Mr. Modi, India has emerged as a strong economic power. In one year, the NDA government has given corruption-free governance and has conducted the auction of coal blocks in a transparent manner. The International Monitory Fund (IMF) has predicted that India is the fastest growing economy in the world recording 7.4% growth as against 4.25 of the previous government.

The BJP has organised Jana Kalyana Parva till May 26 by conducting 5000 meeting across the country. All BJP MPs, ministers, MLAs and party office bearers will take part in the meeting. At 20000 places, exhibitions will be organised to highlight the achievements of the Modi government, Mr. Kumar said.

Criticising ten years of UPA rule, Mr. Kumar said the previous government had failed to start a single fertilizer factory and now, fertilizer factories will be started at six different places in the country. The government has started a neem urea manufacturing unit and urea price will be reduced in the next four years, he said.
