High scores speak loudly for this deaf, mute boy

K. Vidhyakar, was delighted at the score his son had secured despite his handicap
Coimbatore: The son of a civil contractor of the city, Mithun V. Krishna, was born deaf. But that did not stop him from scoring 385/400 in the SSLC exams this year. The father of the boy, K. Vidhyakar, was delighted at the score his son had secured despite his handicap. Congenital marriage was attributed to the disability of the child who was born mute and deaf. But the couple was determined to bring him up just like any other normal child. He got support and assistance from his teachers at Kasthuriba Gandhi Oral Matriculation School, a special school for hearing impaired.
The teachers were dedicated and wanted to help the student recognising the fact that he was interested in studies. They sat up late to coach him in areas where he needed attention. For the rest, his mother, who was an Assistant Prof in an engineering college in the city, assisted him, his father told DC.
He studied the day’s lesson on the same day and never was there a backlog. He made sure that he completed all his homework and assignments on time. Mithun is a hardworking boy and aspires to join the banking sector, added Vidyakar.
The boy was gesturing and articulating his happiness at the CEO’s office when the results were announced. The other students were in awe watching the boy convey his feelings in sign language to mediapersons. He attributed his success to his teachers and parents.
