Manjima is the new heroine for Simbu

Manjima is the daughter of veteran lensman Vipin Mohan
After Pallavi Subhash opted out of Gautham Menon’s Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada, there was speculation about who would play Simbu’s romantic interest in the film. Mollywood actress Manjima Mohan has now been roped in by the makers to play the female lead. The daughter of veteran lensman Vipin Mohan, Manjima started her career as a child artiste in Malayalam films. The actress, who played the female lead in the recently released M’town flick Oru Vadakkan Selfie (OVS), will make her K’town debut with Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada.
Confirming the news, Manjima says, “It’s true that I play the female lead in the film. However, I am not at liberty to speak anything about my character. The offer came through Vineeth Sreenivasan, the director of OVS, after Gautham watched the film. I gave an audition and landed the role.”
Expressing complete happiness about acting with the veteran filmmaker so early in her career, Manjima says, “I am so excited — I am a huge fan of his, having watched all his movies. It is also a huge responsibility since it is my debut in Tamil and my second film as a heroine.”
Meanwhile, it’s heard that the crew will have to re-shoot the parts already done with Simbu and Pallavi, using Manjima instead. Tipped as a bilingual film, it is said to have Naga Chaitanya in its Telugu version. It is yet to be seen whether Manjima will be roped in for the Telugu version too.
