For the past few years, the news doing the rounds is that Chiranjeevi’s just waiting to start his 150th film. And then, the wait came to an end after son Ram Charan confirmed on Facebook on Monday: “Yes. It’s true!!! Finally, Dad has decided. Mega star’s 150th movie director is Puri Jagannath. Excited!!!”
However, the industry is discussing the other big controversy — the film’s story itself. According to reliable sources, writer B.V.S. Ravi, who has provided the story for Chiru’s 150th film, has allegedly stolen it from another writer.
The writer’s name is not included in the original confirmation and only Puri Jagannath’s name finds a mention. Actually, the original story was written by Vasu Dev Varma, an NRI. He has written Okka Adugu for veteran actor and Prabhas’ uncle Krishnam Raju (a project which may start next year). He has been working on the script for the last few years; the film is to be directed by Krishnam Raju and stars Prabhas.
Even popular Tamil director A. Murugadoss liked the subject and wanted to make the film. But writer Vasu had promised it to Krishnam Raju, so he didn’t give it to Murugudoss.
Meanwhile, an associate told Krishnam Raju that the story needs a bit of entertainment so he approached popular writer Gopi Mohan. For the past six months, even he has been working on the script to add his inputs. Gopi Mohan and Ravi happen to be good friends and have worked together on many films. It’s believed that Ravi heard the story from him and took the main plot of the story.
Ravi then approached Chiranjeevi and narrated the story. Chiru liked the subject and gave his nod immediately. Though Vasu has registered his story with the Telugu Writers’ Association and All India Writers’ Association, it is alleged that Ravi has kept the main plot and may change other characters.
According to our source, Vasu also sent texts to director Puri, Ravi and others regarding the storyline. He is a small writer and he may not be able to prove himself,whereas
Ravi enjoys huge support.

According to the source, Chiru may play two characters one is pre-Independence era inspired by freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and another, Auto Jani.
The freedom fighter character will come in flashbacks, and help Auto Jani change and be a people’s leader. “This story suits Chiranjeevi at this juncture,” says the source.
More importantly, Chiranjeevi may not know about Ravi lifting the plot. The film may go on floors on August 22, Chiranjeevi’s birthday and release on Sankranthi, added the source. When contacted, Vasu said that he was preparing a story for Krishnam Raju and the tentative title is, Okka Adugu.
