A ‘Suite’able life

If you have the cash, then go on a casino holiday in the most expensive cities across the world

It’s the neon-lights and the astonishing gold and gaudy opulence of the casinos, that draws many glamorous travellers to indulge in some of the most expensive gambling destinations across the world.

From the gaming heart of Las Vegas or the gaming destination in the Caribbean, Monaco, London, Puerto Rico to the city of Singapore, the power players can be seen trying their luck at most of these hotspots in their dapper suits and chic gowns... sipping on good champagne.

Based on their credit line, one could get entry into these casinos, which could be $4-5 million, and in some places... the minimum bet used to go upwards of $100,000 in earlier days.

But not anymore. While casinos are the best place to earn money, if you’re lucky, they are also about having an unforgettable experience and casino holidays are soon becoming popular with the rich and famous. Besides gambling, these casinos also come attached to some of the most extravagant properties in the world, where you can live in the lap of luxury.

Singapore: With lady luck by your side, the Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, that was built with $5.7 billion and Marina Bay Sands, Singapore with $8 billion could be your answer to a holiday soaked in ultra luxury. Marina Bay has the world’s largest atrium casino with the main attraction being the SkyPark on 57th floor and an infinity pool.

You just have to shell out $17,000 for a night at The Chairman Suite at MBS to enjoy unobstructed views of the striking city skyline and lush Gardens by the Bay from three balconies. The massive suite includes a master bedroom with His and Her closets and bathrooms, an exercise room with steam and sauna, a game room with pool table and bar, a dedicated team of butlers and a pillow menu. With the casino right next door, you can just indulge in 24 hours of gaming.

Macau: The city of dreams is always bustling with high end restaurants, posh retailers, dancing water shows and can easily be called the gamblers’ paradise.

The Venetian Macau owned by Las Vegas Sands Corporation has one of the largest casinos in the world offering 5,50,000 sft of gaming space, and is one of the five most expensive casinos in the world. From soaking in thrills at the roulette tables, to shifting to fine dining and then getting back to blackjack tables followed by spa treatments, this casino resort has it all in plenty. Although the rooms are affordable, the casinos are steeped in sheer luxury.

Las vegas: If you can dream of anything, a Las Vegas hotel probably has it. But it comes at a price. The city boasts of some of the most expensive hotels attached to the casinos — some in the range of $40,000 suites with remote-controlled toilets, to 6,000 sft duplexes. Needless to say, these come with pricetags to match.

Several Vegas hotels offer suites with futuristic amenities, audacious themes, rooms of sizes that can hold a wedding and a honeymoon. If that’s not all, these suites have massages and film screening rooms, 24-hour butler service, pools that hover over the ground, see-through glass showers and more. If you want more, then luxury suites that overlook the Strip have bowling alleys, butlers and hot tubs with a fantastic view.

The Palms has an opulent version of the Playboy Mansion with a 9,000sft suite that includes a private elevator, gym, dining room, private spa, outdoor Jacuzzi, three bedrooms with a Playboy-esque eight-foot rotating bed. Meanwhile, at MGM Grand’s Skylofts, you’ll find a bathtub that fizzes with tiny champagne-like massage bubbles, TVs in the mirrors and airport pickup in a $400,000 car. Neat!

London: The Britney Spearses and Lindsay Lohans of the world don’t always just go to these places to only gamble, but to also have a good time. You don’t have to be a high roller anymore to stay at these plush resorts. For London’s elite gamblers, Crown Aspinalls continues to attract the world’s most discerning gamblers.

The casino personifies the best in private gaming, refinement and unique ambience of private salons. It is an exclusive gambler’s den for members, the elite few and for those that can afford to join, a luxurious gaming haven awaits. Within weeks of opening, the club, nestled in the heart of Mayfair, had visits from Daphne Guinness, Mick Jagger and Kate Moss. Recently, a £5,000 cash tip was left at a table by an Indian billionaire.
